FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
How would Tejas Financial Advisors invest my money?
We have hand-picked portfolios we create as part of our process for various client needs, situations, and appetite for risk. These portfolios are continuously monitored and updated depending on market conditions or company performance. We keep an active management approach to portfolio allocation while maintaining our long-term investment goals in mind. We take pride in knowing our investment selection is done in-house and we are not forced to push certain investment products or portfolios for our clients.
How do Tejas Financial Advisors get paid?
As an independent firm, our compensation is primarily a fee-based formula that ties our success directly with yours. Other firms relying on sales commissions are forced to push investment products, which may not be in the best interest of the client but generate commissions for the advisor. This is not the case at Tejas Financial Advisors because we take pride in providing the best consultation to our clients based on their best interests—for themselves, their family, and their loved ones.
How often will I meet with an advisor?
Depending on your needs, we will usually contact you to meet with us between two to four times a year, but are flexible because we know life happens. Our goal is to ensure everyone is on the same page to keep your financial plan on the course for success.
If I have a 401(k) through Fidelity, can you manage it for me?
Sometimes. Each 401(k) plan differs based on the plan administration and rules of the plan. For most of our clients that have 401(k) plans through Fidelity, we are able to assist them with the asset management of the account, while also considering the account allocation into your entire financial plan. Whether we can directly manage your 401(k) or not, we will certainly make recommendations on it as we take a look at how your whole financial plan can work together to achieve your goals.
What financial custodian do you use for client accounts?
We use Fidelity as our primary custodian, which has been a great relationship for us and our clients. It's important to know who holds your assets, so we wanted to make sure it was one of the biggest and best custodians. This ensures great checks and balances while helping us with the ability to view your assets for recommendations.
